I'm planning to do the new exhaust system on my UrS6.It's running with stock K 24 @ 18-19 Psi,Auto Tranny. So I'm wondering what is the appropriated diameter for the downpipe, the catback? 2.5" or 3".I afraid that the bigger probably cause more turbo lag before turbo spooling up.Need opinion.
PS. Anyone ever remove the center muffler off and running with the rear muffler? How loud it supposed to be?

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, i've always been told that Turbo motors pretty much want the most free flowing exhaust they can get. The Stromung exhuast is 3", and has a resonator and a muffler. Def. lounder than stock, but no where near annoyingly loud.

You could go 3 in from the turbo, downpipe, or cat would be fine. Dual 3 in isn't necessary. It all depends on what your looking for, louder, quicker spool, or that perfect exhaust note.
A 3 in would decrease spool time a little, like only a few hundred rpms. It is the muffler you should search for to get the right tones. I believe Stromung uses a magnaflow for their mid-muffler and their own design for the rear muffler.
In my car I have no mid muffler. I bought it that way. It isn't horrible at all. I'm sure a stock set-up would be a bit quieter but running with out mid's it is tolerable at any rpm. I hope to put together a video of the car from inside and out to show whats its like.

It feels like I lost some spool up time.i don't know if i'm just paranoid because the sound is louder than turbo spinning . i kept
the dual stock 2 '' pipe and go to the rear muffler. maybe i lost some spool up time on the first 1-2k rpm because the lesser back pressure when removed the mid muffler off. I probably put it back.imo it's quite too louder.
