I don't have the cd changer so i really want some form of mp3 or cd player.
Also how hard is it to make the audi bose head unit work with the ipod??
Please let me know what you all think.

pretty much any head unit will work.
just make sure it has line-level outputs, and wire all the grounds together.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4s6/msgs/126219.phtml">see this thread</a></li></ul>

i didnt find a blitzsafe-type adapter for it when i looked
not saying they dont exist...but i couldnt find one.
i had a ghetto-rigged tape-adapter input...but it sounded like ***. i finally got fed up with it and got an alpine head unit.
the newer alpine ones have ipod integration already built in, you just need a $30 cable. that way you can have your ipod in the glovebox and control it through the head unit. another reason i went with alpine is that it's one of the few head units that supports both ipod AND satellite at the same time. most others support only one aux input.

Ipod + Sirius radio connections great but the 2 volt preamp output voltage sucks for sound quality.
I believe the earlier Alpine models had 4 volt preouts and sounded better but unfortunately the Ipod interface did not work as well and they had problems with there motorized face plates.

It definately contributes to headroom and dynamic range.
since you can leave the gains down lower on the amps. I just listened to the new Alpines and was not impressed with the sound quality at all but the Ipod interface worked well. I almost bought one of last years Alpines which sounded great and had 4 volts but ****ty Ipod interface. I also read that they had problems with the motorized face plate and the store display model did not work, always a bad sign. I went with Eclipse which has 8 volts and it sounds awesome but I had to purchase an extra interface adapter to get it to work with the Ipod. But its probably not a fair comparison since it was about seven bills for the head unit and adapter.
