Default New clutch, thinking about doing this myself

I don't have a lift, only jackstands. Is this a job that could be done without a lift?

What other items should I change? my list is:

pressure plate, disc, t-out bearing, pilot bearing, rear main seal, input shaft seal.

Also, transmission mounts and slave cylinder. Is there a seal where the inner CV attaches the to the tranmission?

Tips on resurfacing flywheel? Special tools?

Any caveats or advice would be appreciated.

Default Take the flywheel to Otto and replace all the stuff you mentioned

You can use my dad's lift but you'll have to wait a couple weeks until I get my car off it. Can't think of any special tools except for the clutch alignment tool. I have one you can borrow if it doesn't come with the clutch you select.

Default it sucks doing it with jack stands. You gotta get ms. piggy WAY up

you're going to want a tranny jack though.

Special tools? Maybe driveshaft alignment tool. I left the driveshaft on, and unbolted at the rear driveshaft.

Remeber where each tranny bolt goes!

Default PS, if you don't want the downtime of waiting for the flywheel to be resurfaced I have one ready to

go.

Default A link for the Centerforce Dual Friction through Summit Racing is in my AW registry page.

They are the cheapest and offer free shipping.

Default If you know somebody at Lordco, they have one in their Burnaby warehouse thanks to me.

At staff purchase price or even jobber rate the price will be pretty much the same as getting one from Summit in to Canada.

Default ditto

"I don't have a lift, only jackstands. Is this a job that could be done without a lift?"

it can be done, but will be a serious bitch.. a bit easier with a trans jack, but a trans jacks will barely fit under the car while on jackstands. and jackstands is all i gots. im pretty strong for a skinny white boy, but dropping the trans on my chest and shimmying out could be a real bad time.

"What other items should I change? my list is:

good idea, except my slave is only a year old, so i'll let that remain. theres another crappy little plastic&thin metal piece and metal sleeve you could buy real cheap too, sorry forget the specific names. .. & im pretty sure you dont have to separate the c/v there,, they get pressed out. i was planning on just taking out the 6 xzn bits, detaching there and re greasing after

Tips on resurfacing flywheel? Special tools?

im not going to resurface it myself. alignment tool. ??? alcohol afterwards

Any caveats or advice would be appreciated.

same here

i wish us both luck, but still havent decided if i should handle it myself anyways.

oh,,, and im either going with clutch-net or spec from 034.

..& T/O bearing remains dry
