Default Yes.

From what I know, stock flywheel can't be resurfaced.

I do have a 12 lb-er sitting here from CO that I'm not going to put on my car since it's getting sold soon.

Default not necessarily

I know of two modified cars including mine that have had the original flywheel carefully cleaned and resurfaced (emory cloth) and work just fine when we installed a new clutch (Luk). Note that there were less than 50k miles on mine and plenty of clutch left when the CRB went on so it was still practically without any noticeable wear before it was resurfaced. would think it would be most ideal while your in there to replace it, but I have no problems whatsoever.
