Default No power to fuel pump or starter.

My ignition switch failed and I was almost stranded. I installed a new one and everything except for the fuel pump and starter powers up. I thought I had gotten a faulty switch and replaced it with another new one. I still have power to everthing except for the fuel pump and starter. Does anyone have any ideas? Everything worked fine before the ignition switch failed.

Thanks,

Robert

Default Has to be a switch problem. Fuel pump is triggered by the ECU after cranking has initiated but

obviously there won't be any cranking until the starter works.

<light bulb comes on>

Your failed switch caused the starter to stay engaged ALL THE TIME. Therefore, the starter is dead. (Has happened many times already with the switch failure).

Pull the starter and test on the bench. My guess is it's dead.

Default Here is one example thread about a starter that was killed by a faulty ignition switch.
