Default No reverse lights...any troubleshooting ideas?

Ok, my reverse lights don't work. dunno if this happened recently or if it was this way when I bought the car a couple months ago. I just installed the S6+ tail, so I know the bulbs and wiring inside the trunklid is ok. fuse is ok also. autocheck doesn't show any blown bulbs. and the wiring from the trunklid is plugged into the harness on the left side of the trunk.
I'm thinking maybe the switch is dead, is it on the tranny? Any other ideas? thanks

Mine just went out too, I'm thinking it's the reverse switch but haven't looked yet.

Check the wiring at the trunk hinge first.

Default Does your right side-view mirror tilt down in reverse?

The right mirror select button has to be down for this feature to work. The mirror should tilt down when you engage reverse. If it doesn't, that would point to the reverse switch on the transmission. If it does, it looks more like the wiring to the lights. I don't think autocheck looks at the reverse lights.

Default if your car is anything like mine (mechanism very similar) it's likely broken wires at the hinge

where the loom goes along and up into the lid.

famous break point for these Audi sedans, as the wiring is bent through about 120degrees everytime you open & close the trunk.

mine broke after 12years, so this whole glut of B4 & C4 sedans are all coming into this problem

Default Another view...

This makes it look like it's aft and above the passenger-side axle. The ETKA pic makes it look like it's on top.

No BTDT for the Audi, but I did one on a Subaru, in January, outside in the snow, so I could pass a state inspection before the free-retry grace period expired. Hopefully this job on an Audi is as cheap and easy. (cough)

Default The half-retracted antenna must have given it away...

I have replacement antenna mast #2 waiting to go in. Ah, the fun of having a '94.
