Default No second gear.

WTF is wrong with me and S4's??!?!

So I just took the S4 out on a jaunt to go get some dry cleaning and as I was bringing the shat back, I stopped at a stop sign to turn left. I accelerated through first and coming close to the end of the turn I pushed the clutch in and went to shift into second. The only problem being, there was no second gear... at all. There's no clicking, or resistance of the syncromesh and no grinding, as if the syncro was shot. There's nothing there, though the shift moves precisely how it used to.

The last time I shifted into second gear, it ground slightly (with the clutch all the way in), but not enough to think much of.

Is the S4 looking at it's 3rd transmission of 2007? If so, uhhh... FVCK IT.

You probably broke the linkage somehow. 2nd gear is still in there.

Default Put it in the garage...shift to second with door open...let clutch out...listen.

Hear anything you shouldn't hear? A low whirr, grinding, etc. If so, 2nd gave up the ghost.

Default No, no - I view Corey as a friend.

I would never diss him like that.

Well, almost never.

OK, I'd do it, but I wouldn't laugh.

Ok, so I'd laugh, too.

Dammit.

I talked to Rob about it and he concurs. Somehow broke the linkage. I really hope that's it.

LOL. This is why I respect you. Only a good friend would laugh at another when he's down!

Default Yup, tried that. No whirring or whining or grinding or any signs at all that it's even attempting

to get into 2nd gear.

On the flip side, that may be good news in that its only the linkage... thanks for your help, repeater.

Default every time i post crap like this i remember germantoy's posts...

"broken transmission" and "exploded V8 LSD" were but a few... good times.

And I like to think I take it easy on my cars... heh.

Correction: I like to think I take it easy on the S4.
