No start/crank

93 urs4-
I've had battery woes in the past (illuminated windows switches etc.) Cut the 'yellow wire'- don't think I did this correctly- horn doesn't sound after locking, yet the switches remain on. I basically unplug the battery almost everything I get out of the car. Drove it like this daily for months
Problem- Yesterday the car wouldn't start- acting as if I had a failing cell again. Had the battery checked out and it is in full health.
What I noticed was when I'd plug the battery in there is full power to electronics/dash etc. As soon as I turn the ignition fully I hear a 'click' (same way as not enough power to crank, Car then has barely lit dash as if the battery has no power.
(only acts this way after the failed start).
Disconnect/reconnect battery, seems fine until I try to start.
I am certain the battery is not at fault (let's assume it is not a factor)- ecu seemed dry/cowl drain cleared...
What might be causing my problem? I'm speculating the constant on off of voltage might have blown a fuse...?
Advice appreciated- please & thank you.

Replace the Ignition switch since it causes problems when it fails:

No sophisticated stuff here. Either the ignition switch is not actuating the starter relay and needs to be replaced as UrS4boy advises (best place to start repairs) or the starter or its connections have failed and you need to get dirty under the vehicle to repair that.
