Default Oil pressure gauge on the fritz?

Just looking for some input here. Recently, my oil gauge has been running way past 5 bar when cruising on the highway. It goes down to 3 bar when at idle. I use Mobil 1 15w-50 and a Mobil 1 oil filter. Is this high oil pressure a problem, or is it just indicative of an oil pressure gauge ready to kick? Any input will be appreciated. BTW, the NEA chip is still kicking ***!
