Default Okay... I got one caliper from the ECS stage II kit on. There's a slight possible problem though...

I have ET45 wheels, with 10 mm spacers. That makes them ET35. Well... everything fits, but just barely. When I rotate the wheel, no paint comes off the caliper, but the space between the caliper is so small that A DOLLAR BILL WILL NOT FIT!

So, I need to get 12 mm spacers for the front. That's clear... but I still need to make it to school on monday. Advice? After everything's on and bled, I'll give the brakes a good test run. Will they expand a lot when hot?

If I really need to, I can get a ride to school... and then wait for the spacers. I guess I'll just see what the situation is after it's all bled and tested. I'm just reporting in with problems...

Hopefully the rears go smoothly and well.

-Mike

Default Get a ride and wait for spacers

not worth the damage risk, IMHO. Stuff bends a tiny tiny bit under load, it may be enough to hit your wheel and caliper.

Agreed... it's a small risk but man.. that would be a disaster.

Default We got the rest of the system on.

The other Porsche caliper, the other A8L front rotor, and we changed the rotors and pads in the back. Bleeding the system took about 45 minutes, we weren't sure how to bleed the Porsche calipers because they have 2 chambers so we bled one chamber then the other until there were no bubbles coming out. It worked out pretty well. Maybe Mike will post pictures of it once he gets back to UMass.

Oh yeah, the clearance issue wasn't too bad. After a "spirited" drive the powder coating on the caliper scraped off, but it was only a very small spot. It'll be fine for driving around town for now.

Default Time to start lookin' for some different wheels.

Meh. You pay for them. =P I wouldn't mind the stock 16x8s.
