Default Picked up the URS6 from the Paint Guy....again.

Well, after a less than perfect first attempt at the paint my paint guy made good on his word, and the car is one color again.

Here are some before and afters:

What I picked up today:

I'm still tweaking the fitmet of the pannels a bit, and I have a bone to pick with the person that supplied the head lights, One of my low beams is a 9006, the other is a H1??? Can someone shed some light on that?

Anyway, just glad to have her finally back together. Just some major cleaning, shoe swapping, new shocks, new R.F. CV Boot, and I'm calling it quits for the winter.

Default Hey Corey... Looks much better, but....

Please replace that black trim aft of the front wheel arch already!!! Geez, you're an embarasment to the S-car community driving it around like that. ;^)

Well, panel painting is NEVER a good idea. And, ask me how I know. I did it on my old V70R, and I could always tell it had been painted.

Looks way better though. Nice going. Glad to see it fixed well and not ending up as another parts car.

Default LOL, I owned the car for 2.5 years - it was Casablana white...

...it's not metallic or pearl, just a creamy off-white.

Default Well, that's kinda the rub. It's 'suppose to be pearl, but he second guessed

the paint when he did the first shot. He said it looked way to yellow. So he went back to the shop and got the next step whiter and sprayed again...which resulted in a complete mis-match.

He admited he should have stuck with the stock paint code.

To make is easy, I just told him to spray the whole car the new color. I love the true Audi Pearl White, but the new color had more pearl in it, was brighter and just popped more.

So, it's Casablanca, with pearl in it (lots of pearl.)

I've got the trim piece, I just need new mounting tabs. I'm going to take some Kiwi shoe Dye to all the black trim too. That should get it all one color, since the parts are from like 3 different cars.
