Default Poll: What kind of peak boost are people seeing now that winter temps are upon us?

Stock software was designed to provide LESS boost in colder temps, supposedly so the power is uniform over then entire year. Might have been something to do with not providing "extra" unneeded power when traction limitations are likely.

I noticed last night (about 4 deg C, 39 deg F) that my peak boost was about 23 psi down from 27 psi (MRC s/w with RS2 hardware).

Any others seeing that?

I can still push the TripComputer indication to 1.9 (MRC2) and we're -10C daily

That's about 13 psi boost. You should be getting 22 psi boost in the summer.

Default Yes. I reported on this last year.

In the heat of summer, I get 24 psi sustained.

In winter, 17-18 psi sustained.

Colder air has more mass, and the injectors can flow only so much fuel. Thus, pressure is backed off. The ECU doesn't care what season it is or what the traction conditions are.

Stoichiometry uber alles.

BTW - MRC, Stage 2.

Default so I should see the TC indication well above 2.0? I didn't think it was that much of an error

even in the summer I've never seen it any higher than 2.1, and it ain't goin' any higher either cause that seems to be boost cutout

You running a VMAP or 3 Bar MAP? If so the TC numbers need to be factored up by 3/2.5

Default ya, it's a 3bar transducer. So that's divide by 3? 2bar = 30psi / 3 = 10psi? That's ghey

or do you mean 2^3? in which case it's 16psi...which is more believable, but still much lower than what I'd thought. I always figured chipped cars were 20+.

how in the hell is Keegan up 26-28psi? it can't be all to do with the RS2 software is it?

Default What part of "factored up by 3/2.5" didn't you get? (Hint: Multiply by 1.2 = 1.9 = 2.28 bar = 18.36

psi gauge. (1 Bar = 14.5 psi, Assumed atomspheric = 14.7 psi.

Default well then why the hell didn't you just write 1.2? Then it woulda made sense. I didn't perceive the

backslash as "divide"..

Because then you would NOT know where the 1.2 came from = (3/2.5)
