Default Question when chaging valve cover gasket and the gasket for the housings?

1) I noticed the kit comes with a rubber gasket for the spark plug housings. When I removed my valve cover I noticed that mine had a plastic cover where the sprak plug housings come through. I am somewhat confused about the gasket in the kit?

2) can i use any gasket sealent for the half moons. I just want to make sure that the sealent is used on the side where it plugs into the curve.

Sorry but newbie on working with these cars)

1-not sure what you mean by the plastic. Once the valve cover is off, you can see where that gasket goes, it comes off with the valve cover

2-yes, i used sealant all the way around.

The kit comes with 4 gaskets

1. the valve cover gasket
2. 2 half moons
3. the straight gasket with the holes for the spark plug housing.

number 3 is what I am confused about. When I look at the bottom of my coil cover it has a plastic housing where the boots come through.

the kit comes with a rubber gasket

also can you use any gasket sealent?

Default #3 goes on the valve cover, not the coil cover

when you pull off the valve cover, you will see where it goes. I use RTV sealant, anything high temp should work fine.

Default ummm...the part that you show in the picture

is rubber and is the gasket. It my feel like plastic just because it's old and hard. If a part in the gasket set looks like that, then you're good.

the part in the picture is plastic. Is that where the rubber gasket goes that comes with the kit? it is real confusing that the 2 are not the same.

yeap, just as i thought. The heat, oil and age don't help the rubber.
