Radio Problem - Tuner or Antenna ?

OK I searched the archives, and went through many pages but did not find the answers I was seeking.
My problem is that I have no AM/FM radio - tape and cd player work fine. The radio cuts in and out (mostly out). If I crank the volume all the way up, I can faintly hear the radio in the background.
So is the tuner in the radio gone, or is it the AM/FM antenna amplifier.
It is a 96 S6 with a Delta radio
thanks
Jeff

You might check to make sure the amp is getting power. Or, if you have a generic car radio antenna lying around, you could plug it into the back of the radio and see what happens. It's a standard "Euro" antenna plug (at least it is on the earlier radios, I assume they didn't change it.)
