Radio volume knob acting up on '94 S4

Radio volume **** acting up on '94 S4
My radio cuts out and then comes back on as I turn the volume **** up, the lower end is almost completely gone, it seems to 'work' better if I turn it past the point I want it and then turn it back down. At certain points, power to radio appears to be completely off as antenna starts down and radio lights go off. There is quite a bit of static as the radio cuts in and out while the volume **** is turned, once in position it is fine. Any ideas or suggestions?

Same thing happened to me
Time to find a new radio. I first sprayed some contact cleaner on mine and it didn't help.
Just make sure you get the code when you buy the radio.
