Default RE: Decided to change the support bearing on the driveshaft...

audi has no replacement part listed and Etka doesn't help. Bentley has no rpocedure on how to change the bearing.
Also, is the U-joint needs to be serviced or replaced while at it, car has 110K.
Inspecting rear differential noticed that crossmember is easy to twist (normal??).

Default STFA...the only part available from audi is the entire driveshaft

a short answer: take the support bearing from a BMW, chop off the bracket and weld the orginal bracket to the new bearing. U joint should not need any servicing. Also, the CV joints are a porsche part number, or you can just clean them and repack. Good luck

Default if that bearing has plastic mounting points, it can't be modified. a BMW one with metal mounts is

the only thing you can really use.

Default That has METAL mounting tabs, had them in my hands!

...and why is it everytime I post something you seem to refute it, many times with false information? No offense but it's become a pattern.

Those are BMW units, actually heavier duty than most carry as spec'd by my OEM parts supplier.

Default So is the 034EFI support bearing "plug and play" for the UrS-Cars?

just looking for clarity, or do you still need to make the modification ourselves as per the 2nd link?

Default in this case, it looked like a black plastic one that someone else posted. if it's metal then i'm

wrong. but i also never said yours was plastic. i said if it is plastic then it can't be modified. that's a totally accurate and factual statement.
