Default Replacing all coolant parts

Hey I am going to be putting my S4 back on the road here pretty soon. I need to at the minimum replace the timing belt and thermostat. But instead I am wanting to replace all parts of the cooling system with new hoses, and replace if possible all plastic parts with metal ones. So far I have found the below:
(ripping from dave's what will make your aan die if it breaks post)
1 The coolant T pipe, 4a0-819-497 -- no known metal replacement part

2 Metal thermostat housing replaces the existing plastic one plastic:074-121-121B - metal 034motorsport or pn 035-121-21A

3 The plastic coolant adapter off the rear block plastic:034-121-143E metal:034-12-1143 *edit* 034motorsport

4 After-run coolant pump 034-965-561C

5 034 silicone coolant hose set I don't know of any other complete hose set out on the market. or this FAQ Link

6 Water pump-thermostat-coolant-(and seals and timing belt) best deal I can find is at blauparts

7 Cam position sender - while the cam sprocket is off- might as well

Is there any other parts that should be replaced at that time while the cooling system is drained/timing belt is replaced, I really don't want to redo the cooling system over and over as parts slowly die (like on my old car- replace coolant 2-3 times). Thanks for your advice in advance.

Dustin

You could do the turbo coolant return line that comes off the water manifold, its prone to fail every so often. And the short hose behind the thermostat housing in this picture. Both hoses pictured below...

Also, there's been discussion that the silicone coolant hoses leak at the fittings because they don't seal as well as rubber hoses. Consequently, some owners opt for replacement rubber hoses which can usually be found for about the same price as the silicone set overall.

Investigate what the parts are that Blaufernugen supplies. Remember you get what you pay for and sometimes "Cheap" is just that, cheap, not inexpensive.

Go OEM and avoid Made in China wherever possible.

Thanks for the additional info Dave.

I was just pricing out the other day all the hoses to replace, and it came up to more then double what the silicone set was going for. I would love to know where these people got their hoses from.

Does anybody know where you can rent the special tools for the timing belt / crank/cam seals other then from blau parts. That is the only place that I have seen it. In canada hopefully.

Dustin: Try getting pricing on hoses from Kristian at VM Autohaus in Burnaby. Here is a listing for the PNs (not all apply). Items 36 and 37 for example go to the heater core (but still can burst).
