Default RF remote problem - Yes I've read the FAQ and STFA

97 S6

I've tried the "How do I program the 1995.5 and later Radio Freuency Keyless Remotes?" on s-cars.org.

I've tried the 97/98 alternate version posted on the 100/A6 forum. Nothing works. Any further suggestions?

I have two remotes (1 new, 1 old with new batt) and neither one works.

Default Re: try this - works for my 95.5 - sorry now with text

for the 95.5 RF remotes this is the procedure:
1. Put 1 key in the ignition and turn it on. (Don't start the car, just turn it on until the dash lights up.
2. Roll down driver's side window. (You don't really have to do this, but I'd hate to lock my key in the car)
3. Take the second key and lock the car using the drivers door.
4. Hold BOTH buttons on the remote until the turn signals flash and the door unlocks. It should take about 5 seconds or less. Bingo!

To program a second remote, unlock the door (with the key that's in it), lock the door and hold both buttons on the second remote until the lights flash and the door unlocks.

That's not what mine (for the 98 C4 avant) looks like. Is it OE?

Default Looks like mine (96 S6)

Bought a replacement on fleabay and that one worked too. Which is like the 95.5.

Doesn't Sean D have a 97? See if we can get him to chime in.
