Default RS2 MAF Toast

Well my car has been running a bit rough at idle, occasional stall at idle when coming to a stop, MAF cut?? at high 6800+ RPM, and now my CEL is stuck on. Checked the Codes and got an error about MAF permanent Fault (didnt write down the exact error) so going to throw in a stock MAF to see if this cures the issues.

Default Check MAF wiring. Disconnect & reconnect MAF connector, use contact cleaner

Take the MAF out and inspect. Any Blockages ? Hold it up to the light - can you see the hot-wire element. (NB. DO NOT spray solvents or contact cleaner inside the MAF !)

No need to disconnect MAF and compare - that's a different error, similar symptoms.

If you disconnect the MAF it will die at idle, it will be rough and RPM's will be very limited (iirc 4000). This is Bosch Motronic "limp home mode".

Watch out you'll be super rich !
