Default Reluctantly, I buy it at Walmart.

Ordinarily I avoid that place like the plague. But 5 quarts for $20 is hard to beat. They had 15W50 which I ran last summer also. I am not sure if I will stick with the 5W40 for the summer this year or go back to the 15W50. The engine runs very smoothly with the 5W40, much more so than on anything else I've tried (15W50, 10W30, 5W30, all M1). Lifter chatter at 0 degrees F is startling -- it lasts for literally 1/2 second and then goes totally silent.

Default That's where I get my oil too.

I go in through the tire center, and back out the same way, so I can avoid the human scum that tends to shop there.

The wierd thing - is the price is different at every store. ($20-26 / 5qt depending on which store!)

Normal? I'm down less than 1 quart every 5000 change.

I am about a half a quart down when I go to change it at 3500 mile intervals.

Default I am befuddled by you three. They just opened 1500 new stores and they are the epidemy of

EVIL CORPORATE AMERICA RUN AMUCK. =) If you were in Seattle I would give you Pentosin, anything to keep you out of there. I heard they are going to buy Canada.

Default Kraggen carries M1SUV 5w40. Truck suppliers carry Delvac 1 5w40 (Diesel & Petrol) in Gallon jugs

Check yellow pages for truck parts suppliers.

Rotella T synth 5W-40 is a good choice. I would use it instead of the overpriced Castrol stuff..
