They were "R"s, but only lasted 15 months!? Got to get another spare.

oh, and since I don't drive daily, they lasted ~10K miles before one went bad.

Default OMFG. That is outrageous. Works out to $0.003/mile. That is terrible.

In case you wondered, that is called sarcasm.

? that sounds like the conversion for an LS2 coil ($30) isn't a 1.8T $80-100?

Default I think urs6ville and kday's point is it's a PITA to debug ignition issues every 10K miles...

and one of mine lasted less than 5K. Yes, the coils are cheap. Yes, replacement is plug and play, but it's still very annoying to have to guess whether it's a coil or something else, and if it is a coil, which one.

No. LS2 (D585) coils can be had for $20. 1.8t coils are around $30 +/- $5.

Default My S-coils sucked, too.

I think the Rs are best.

Default I had a single 115R coil that died after almost exactly 1 year of use.

I replaced it with a spare 115L I had sitting around.

R coils can be purchased for $20 also, if you know the right source
