I have a very large crack in my windshield (about 6" long), and I need to replace it before my next inspection in July. Does anyone know of a source for a new windshield for a 95.5 S6, other than an Audi dealer? I searched the web, with no success.

Most reputable auto glass companies can source windshields for our cars. I average a new windshield once every year. I use Elite Auto glass here in the Denver area.

Or are they "economy" shields?
A couple of weeks ago I suffered a small chip in my windshield.. I'll likely employ the Crazy Glue solution, until the chip becomes a real problem.

You have to be sure and specify the antenna in the replacement. Go to any auto glass shop and have them repair your shield properly. They use a vacuum of sorts to get the adhesive into the shield. Elite offers free repairs to anyone in the first year after replacement. In addition, check your auto insurance. My company, USAA, offers to pay for repairs for free in lieu of replacement

I wish I could post a pic, because it'd be easier to explain... but the antenna basically makes a large square shape. Three of the sides of this "square" run along the perimeter of the windshield; along the roofline, along the passenger side a-pillar, and along the bottom of the windshield near the cowl. The fourth side of this "square" runs vertically, from the bottom of the windshield to the top, near the middle of windshield.

Mine is about 6 inches long, starting close to the bottom edge of the windshield (where a rock hit on the highway) and curving to the left in parabolic arc. Is this too long?
