Blaufernugen usually steers me right, but this time my shop is refusing to put in BOshe Platinum plugs stating they can't handle our engines with arching problems etc noted on several cars over the years (SAAB, AUDI, VW)etc. Should I stay away from the Boshe?

Some people like the 3 prong coppers that only last 3k miles or so, I did the cost-benefit and it came out like this:

"cheap" plug
$2.96/ea. = $14.80 / 3000 miles = $.00493 per mile

Proper plug
$12.46/ea = $64.30 / 16000 miles = $.00389 per mile.
