Possibly a stupid question, but here it goes.....People always say that you're not supposed to loosen the spark plugs when checking the torque setting, only tighten them (b/c of a crush washer or something).
However, I'd like to take them out to inspect them and then put them back in (assuming the ends look okay). Is this a bad idea?

get full of carbon deposit and it will be a b*tch to get them out when you need to.
I replace mine every 30,000 miles (48,000 km).

But, like UrS4boy says, check torque on them often... What I'd like to know is what is a good increment of time to re-check the torque on them???
Should I do it every 5,000 miles or what???
I know my plugs were replaced not that long ago, but I bought new ones and since water got in my #1 spark plug recess I decided I wanted to change them all. I'm torquing them to about 30Nm, or roughly 22 ft lbs (as per the Bentley).
I don't know when my boots were last replaced, so I am replacing all those as well.
