Default Stuck spark plug

Attempted to change the spark plugs on my 97 S6. 2,3,4,5 came out now problem and look to be in rough shape, who knows when the previous owner last replaced those. #1 spark plug however doesn't even seem to have anything for the socket to hold on to. When looking at it with a flash light it looks like the part of the spark plug where the socket attaches is missing. Not really sure where to go from here, how much would have to be removed to gain better access to the spark plug. Or any idea's how the heck i could get that sucker out.

look deeper, it has to have the part where the socket goes on to, it's one assembly

It might be a different spark plug with a different size hex on it. Try a different socket

Default You may find some debris inthe hole blockingthe hex.

Spray WD down there, let sit, blow out with airgun.

You are absolutely right. a small ruber piece and fluid blocked me socket from sitting right. after spending a few hours and after a few choice words, finally got it out. There was a bit of clear fluid in there.

use a craftsman or irwin bolt out.
I went the chisel route the first time, didn't work. Ended up filing flat spots back onto the bolt and then hammering a 16mm 6 point socket on the drain bolt, that and a 6ft cheater bar got it off.

Last time this happened, used the bolt out.- 1/4 turn with a 18 inch breaker bar and it was loose...
