My wife said the sunroof just opened itself up Friday morning when she started the car. I attempted to crank it shut manually, but the hole where you use the crank tool is not grabbing at all, so how else can I get this thing shut? Can you use jumpers in the socket to force it closed, or bypass a sensor someplace?

if the allen key is stripped you will have to grab it with pliers or something i guess.

I've had this problem before, I believe it caused by a dirty switch
sending the wrong signal causing the car to believe it's in the
wrong position. For me if I turn the switch just off the closed
position the sunroof will close.
My fix has been to quickly turn the sunroof switch back and forth
repeatedly, which I believe cleans the contacts some, then return the
switch to the closed position.
To fix it you need to either replace or clean the switch.
