i'm having a little problem and i'm checking everything so far on my car. I have a cone filter on it but from what i've heard, you can't just slap a cone filter straight onto the MAF b/c it'll create turbulence in the MAF. but doesn't the screen in the front of it do its job or is it too much? to solve the turbulence problem i've heard that adding some distance between the cone and the MAF will solve it. how long is the proper tubing to eliminate the turbulence?!

and it curves downward with the metal tube to give space before the mass air flow sensor. I've got my screens removed, have ran the setup for probably 6,000 miles or so, no problems at all.
