into these plug-and-pray harnesses for my new radio. in theory i should be able to plug everything in and it should work. i'm betting there will be fire though. but i'll find out tomorrow.

Default to transfer $30 of my money to crutchfield

their website said i need that to install the head unit in my car.

well, i spoke to an EE friend who's more versed in this stuff, and he said since my head unit has the RCA outputs, i should be fine just wiring the lines to the bose off of that. i checked the RCA's on the head unit, and they were all common ground...just like the bose.

the oem-2 would have taken the speaker-level outputs from the head unit and down-converted them to be line-level. this is an unnecessary step, so i tossed it out.

btw, my 95.5 has the following connections:

- the top half of the big block above
- the whole of the bottom block
- it does NOT have the part with the little speaker icons

Default no, there's a separate line to control when the amp is on

that's what the 6th pin in that bottom right block is (aside from 4 speaker lines and common ground)...and the head unit i have has a dedicated wire for that.

Default nevertheless, i've experienced Bose amp 'poping' on on/off...

even with the amp on/off wire.

Default I occasionally get that with the reverse setup (Audi radio + aftermarket amps)

It's rare, maybe 1 in 20 times, so I haven't tried to fix it.
