Default This is kinda an important thing.

It's possible to do as a DIYer. But if you havn't done it before you might want to consider hiring it done. That said...

There are two drain holes in the underside of the transmission, one is the tranny and the other is the center differential. Before you open them and drain it, you want to find the fill hole on the driver side, slightly behind the tranny drain hole and about halfway up the side. Make sure you can open this fill hole before you drain the fluid.

When full and the vehicle level, fluid should just barely seep out of the fill hole when the plug is removed. Basically you add fluid, gradually, allowing it to settle and level out, until it seeps out of the hole. You need a hand fluid pump to do this. Draining is similar, give it lots of time to pour out of both drain holes. Gear oil is very thick and moves very slowly.

Ok, do this at your own risk. And again I encourage you to seek help if you havn't done it before. By the way, most folks do the rear differential at the same time as the tranny.
