Considering a few options:
-1) Going with same H.O Turbo, getting other one rebuilt and selling the rebuilt turbo to recoup expenses.
-2) Same as above but adding 034's RS2 Replica/Tubular Manifold and selling my RS2 Mani & turbo.
-3) Going w/ a GT30/40R KKK Hybrid but does require new Intake, Oil/Coolant lines, and unknown results from existing programming. Also may have MAF wire sucking/destruction issues. Getting OLD turbo rebuilt and selling it. Stay w/ RS2 Manifold
-4) Same as #3 but going w/ 034 RS2 Manifold and selling old RS2 Manifold.
Votes welcome

I was faced with the same issue a little while back on my wagon and I opted to go with a newer ball bearing turbo. From my experience thus far they just seem to hold up better and just all around 'more better', except for the cost

My GT35R ate some of the spark plug pieces that my engine spat out and it was toast. The new F2 line of ceramic ball bearing turbos from ITS are rebuildable. They are also very expensive. I'm gonna be runnin an F271. The good old sleeve bearing turbos are very rebuildable.

I dont care whats been done or who says what here, every single tuner i have talked to in Europe (home of running, big whp cars) swears that if you try and push over 400 hp with the rs2 manifold you start to play with fire.
The 30/40r is quite nice and has plenty of room for power etc as Tony from Epl proved with my car it can be done without standalone as well.
You will also need software if you change the turbo. also going to want some 60lb high impedence injectors. etc etc

The point was that if you do FOD a turbo at the inlet or through the turbine you can't rebuild a Garrett R series. You can, however, rebuild the old sleeve bearing Garretts or the F2 series from ITS.

not driving it right now because the heater core blew up on the highway but I hardly call that the turbos fault.
