Turbocharger Coolant pump
Does anybody have the part number for the T/C Coolant pump? As well as where to get it and how much it should cost if I don't go to Audi? Is it a Bosch or VDO part?

Through the miracle of "Search Forums" on "after run pump", you can find lots of info including

I just didn't know the after run pump was for the turbo..
I thought it was just an after run pump. Does the water pump move coolant through the turbo during run time or the after run the only path for coolant through the turbo?

The pump is only activated when engine temps are very high and only AFTER the engine is turned
off. And then, it is activated by a switch and a relay and runs for a short period, circulating coolant through the engine, including the turbo.

The turbo is cooled by a water line that is connected to the normal coolant system. So...
it is normally cooled by the belt driven water pump. IF and I stress IF, the engine temps are high enough when you turn the engine off, the after run pump will be activated.
And no, we do not worry about having a turbo timer. The after run pump is sufficient.
(Assuming you don't run flat out (130 mph plus) for miles and then just turn the engine off).
