tozoM8 may have been on to something - i believe he was talking about the known problem of a relay inside the central locking pump unit going bad. the result is you can roll down/roll up the windows even after the car is turned off and you open the door. And the battery dies with the car just sitting because the circuit stays hot.
Here's what happened to me about a year ago: battery was mysteriously draining, got new battery, still drained. After installing a kill switch (thinking it was something i'd never solve) and pulling my hair out looking at wiring diagrams i came upon a clue in the s-car list archives. Turned out to be the central locking pump (w/ built in bad relay that was sticking), which was keeping the power on to the windows after the car was shut down and after the door was opened. Got a used pump from an A6, and problem was solved. no more battery drain. this has happened to other people (s-car listers), so it may be your problem too.
Easy way to diagnose - if the window switch keys are lit even when the car isn't running (look close), and if you can roll the windows up/down even after the car's been turned off and you've opened the door . . . it's the relay in the central locking pump. You may also try unplugging the pump (under rear seat, wrapped in foam on far right side; you'll have to remove battery to gain access) after fully charging the battery and let the car sit for a day, and then check it again. But the car won't start if the central locking pump isn't plugged in - reconnect the central locking pump to start the car - don't ask me why it's this way!. HTH
