Its very faint but noticeable and it just started happening. Sounds like a tornado warning siren but not as loud obviously. Any ideas on what it could be?

I've got a sound like you're describing but it will continue to make noise after the car is turned off as well. There's a check valve in the charcoal canister or whatever is in the rear passenger side wheel well.
If I vent the gas tank by loosening the gas cap it will go away for a while. It builds pressure and it will continue for a few minutes after the car is shut off. It lasts a bit longer as the days get warmer. I also notice it a bit more once the tank gets below 1/2.
I've got to replace the wheel well liner now because it's been doing it for long before I even bought the car. The wheel well liner is so brittle now that I can't even clean it or it starts to crumble.
Even with all the strange little noises the car makes...I love it!

The Pink Tornado had that happen with the whole family in the car.
One night at a hotel ($150), and total wallet rape by a local fix-it place ($500, CASH).
Yeah, swapping the fuel pump in the comfort of your own garage, with the tunes playing and the cold beer going down easy beats wallet rape on the road, during a weekend, with the whole frickin' family in the car.
This summer, the S6 gets a new 005 pump and OEM FPR. The pump will be relayed, and the casr will then be ready for RS2 stuff.
