Guys,My UrS6 has weired ticking sound from the engine.
I don't think the sound's from the lifters.I also experienced
this kinda sound once year ago.one of the spark plug was cracked at that time.the symptom 's likely off and on.ie,I leave the car idle for a while
then the ticking is on.it's most likely the sound will come on when the
car is getting warmed up.sometimes the ticking sound is just randomly.I havn't properly wired on the coils as I just replaced
1-2 coils.so just leave them there and get the car to run first.
the F5DPOR has 10,000-20,000 Kms.Do you think it could have one of them
getting bad(crack) again?the AAN motor's also pretty fresh. Can the low on the motor oil could cause ticking sound?the motor oil level has half of the dipstick.Currently,I'm running Castrol GTX 20W-50 weight. The car is running fine, pull strongly.

Is it coming from the front of the engine? I had a ticking sound and it turned out the cam chain had stretched and was slapping a little.
Also, low oil will cause engine noise. If you are not considered low when checking it should be okay.
20W-50 is a pretty thick oil isn't it? What are the outside temperatures there now? If you run a real heavy oil in cold temps it takes longer for it to get moving.

OK,Well Here we go again.
this early morning I removed my F5DPOR.
Damn,I just lost $$$ again.the spark plug on the Cyl#5
is bad(crack again).the symptom was same as my old Spark plugs!.
Man I just need to get one of the old F5DPOR on it.Amazingly, the ticking
noise disappeared.here the old pics of the F5DPOR.the white part(I guess it made of kinda ceramic material.)got loosing out. it could turn freely.
Say no more on F5DPOR.It had only 7,500 miles on this spark plugs.

Are the threads in the head okay? Is there something wrong with your spark plug wrench? No offense, but I have to suspect something is wrong with the spark plug installation technique. To have it happen twice on the same cylinder seems a bit strange. The has to a correlation to something and not just the F5DPOR.

I agree. Very strange twice on the same cyl. Keep a close eye on that one. I had a spark plug fail for other reasons and it caused a burnt valve. No good.
