What have you guys, that have replaced the heater core, used to seal the opening in the heater box?
I used some 'indoor/outdoor' stuff from permatex that I thought would work, but it has a strong lingering smell. It stinks. Anyone else have/had this?

which opening? The seal where the box meets the inner firewall? Or any gap that's left around the
core where the inlet & outlet pipes come out of the box, and what was previously filled with some crazy German jelly product.
