what's the maximum boost you want to run on a stock turbo

I used to run 21-22 on the stock turbo but honestly, it does feel good. It's very inefficient running that much boost, it's not smooth, and it's not giving you much power.
Running it at 18 vs 22 the car was about 2/10 of a second slower in a 1/4 mile... and it feels much much better at 18 max... you can floor the car without feeling bad for it.
So... to make a long story short... 21-22 is doable, but I don't think worth while. I believe around 18 is the max "reasonably usable boost".

turbo never seems to complain. The key is proper warmup, cooldown and 10w40 synthetic. I keep it out of the boost until the oil temp needle has gone to the first hash mark on the gauge.

what is a proper cool down. Letting it sit idling for a while? I usually crawl slow as soon as I enter our development and at least a minute or less when inside the garage..
What brand oil are you using? I just swithced to 10W40 but was unable to find Mobile 1. So I used Castrol Synthetic. Just wondering.

I've sent it out for anaylsis after use and was told that I could easily get 7-9K miles between changes, at 5K miles it was still well within the proper limits.
