Why does my rebound adjustable Koni feel like it is adjusting the compression?

When I adjust, the bump gets softer or harder but the rebound feels like it is the same---too soft. Am I imagining this? If I put my adjustment to full soft I can push the front end of the car down more easily than I can with it set full firm.

bypass, so when you adjust the rebound harder you close off the bypass which will increase the compression a little bit too as the bypass works in both directions.

I have replaced my front Koni's a year ago.I feel like the compression is too soft. When I hit the pothole, jumpin' on small bridge.I feel like the shock up is hitting the stop buffer veryyy hard.I also tried to adjust the shock up to be hardest.
it seems the rebound is improved but not the compression. The shock up has no leak.I'm probably think my Koni can be adjusted only rebound or it might be getting bad.I'm thinking to put them off and go for KW's Variant 2 Kit.
