Default Winter Tires

Will a 225/60/16 Nokian NRW fit on a 95 S6? I have the OEM 5 spoke wheels. Currently running 225/50/16 Dunlop SP5000 with about 1/2 tread left. Rather slick in snow and ice.

Fit yes... but your tire diameter will be quite a bit larger. (Gear ratio and speedometer)

Default Fit Not Really

I ran a set of 225/60/16's (wheels and tires) off of an A8 as my "winter" tires for awhile. The tire is substantially taller than stock and when you crank the wheel hard, e.g. parellel parking, the corners of the tires rub on the wheel well liner. This isn't a big deal in the dry and wet BUT in ice and snow, with build up in the wheel well, this could be a problem. I quickly sold those tires and got some Pirelli Wintersport 210's (215/55/16) (which is still a bit bigger than the proper 205/55/16). I purposely went a little bigger to gain some height (Eibachs and Bilsteins) for the winter. Works. I no longer "bang" on certain parking lot speed bumps.
