Default How would I diagnose this?

In last two weeks:

Swapped in known good PSO's amd coils. Installed new cam position sensor.
Installed new (borrowed) MAF

None of this fixed the issue, though the MAF did reduce the severity.

Checked for boost leaks, found none.

Help......

Default Hmm.. Unplug your WGFV with your suspect ECU in the car.

That will at least tell you whether the suspect ECU can run your engine smoothly at low boost.

Default Well, crazier things have happened, but it seems odd that...

... your ECU would only act up under those conditions. Have you completely ruled out a boost leak?

Default No, they still deal with Conestoga wagons....

Joke...... they are a reputable chip tuner for our cars and more than a few on this list are running his software. He's a good resource. Use him.

Default Re: WTB: ECU

I had a similar issue and I checked my coils using one of those cheap $8 spark gap testers. You can visually see which coil is weak due to the fact that they don't clip right in to our connectors. The coil must cause a spark to jump over 2 gaps. A weak coil will have no spark or an orange colour spark. A strong coil will still jump both gaps with a white colour spark. Try this before replacing ecu.
