I only found out about this because the car was due a service. The dealer tried to do the update but they couldn’t finish it because there is a faulty battery cell! This dealer is unable to undertake replacing a cell so it has been referred to another dealer an hours drive away. The software update takes ages so they have it for two days. One has to wonder how long the car has had a faulty cell.
