Hi all, to the surprise of no one - as far as I can gather on this thread- my salesman has been less than helpful. In fact, I purchased my car last week & now he's no longer with the dealership. Sigh...
Anyway, I have a few questions about getting the MMI set up with multiple drivers and users.
1. We have two keys. In our Q5, depending on which key was used to open the car, the seat moved to the correct driver. The Q4 does not seem to do this- have they taken away the functionality or are we just missing a setting somewhere?
2. Similarly, we would have thought that by entering users when the vehicle was engaged with each respective key, it would remember which user went with each key- that also does not seem to be correct. It always defaults to the previous driver regardless of which key opens the vehicle. Again, is this normal or something we've failed to manage properly.
3. Which leads us to phones. We each have iPhones, each added them to the system when logged in on our user, but the car always defaults to me- the key user's phone- even when my husband is the acting as user on the MMI. Is there a way to tell it use his phone when he is the user and to ignore my phone? I would like it to show my cell & work cell when I am in the car but it appears that to do that I would knock out his phone and I don't want to do that.
Any thoughts would be helpful. Some of this feels like a giant step backward from the Q5's functionality.
Thank you!

I have had 13 Audis and with my recent purchase of my Q4 etron Prestige 2023, none of what you state above works like our 2022 Q7 Prestige. I have search high and low and can not find an answer but I do think it has to do with supply chain as my car also did not have the Homelink integration in the mirror. As that supposedly was removed due to sourcing issues. I really find it annoying, that your key does not adjust your seat, does not auto log you into you account and also doesn't specifically connect with you phone. And I was pretty specific when I set everything up to not have the 2nd key near by when setting the key user. Just thought I would share my thoughts. Let me know if you ever got an answer. Thanks

Regarding your key fobs and separate driver accounts, I believe Audi has missed a real opportunity for making a simple concept easy to use. Here is tge Audi tutorial that implies you should be able to associate the driver accout with the key fob, but do get back to us if you get it to work…

For that issue with the phones, where your motor's defaulting to your phone instead of your husband's when he's the user, it sounds like it's picking the first phone it were paired with or the one it sees as the 'main' phone. We had a similar bother with our car, my wife and I, seeing as we're both using the same vehicle at the moment.
What you'll want to do is, when you're in the MMI settings, have a gander under the Bluetooth or phone connections, but make sure you're doing it under your husband's user profile. In these systems, you can usually set which phone it should be connecting to for each user. The trick is to set his phone as the primary one when his profile's in use. That way, when he's driving, it should pick up his phone instead of yours. Worth a try, that.

I spoke to Audi Support today and they told me that both my keys were never registered to the car and therefore that is the reason why the seat, MMI and phone are not connecting to the respective key. The only way to solve it is that I have to bring it to the dealer and they need to associate the keys with the vehicle and my Audi account. She was able to see remotely that the car has no keys registered to me as a Key User and my wife secondary. As this all currently works fine in our Q7. Just wanted to update. Thanks

Please do give us another update after your local Audi dealership has “registered” your key fobs. That is, it also doesn’t make sense that Audi engineers got this wrong in the first place…
Cheers from The Avalon…
