Will the 2021 Audi’s still retain the ability to turn off the ridiculous auto stop/start system? A local BMW dealer is trying to convince me that all 2021 vehicles will not have the capability to turn that system off probably to justify the fact that BMW will not allow the S/S System to be turned off.

As far as I know 2021MY will retain the ability to turn off start/stop system. Of course not permanently and it will be coming back always after the restart of the engine. Usually, except ABS, all these systems have the option of temporary shutdown.

I don't mind the system is there, but I do hate it when it shutoff right before a full stop then I have to accelerate again, the lag is painful. Would be nice, if it shutoff after you come to a complete stop for couple of seconds.

Read this in another thread and seems to be true...it goes by brake pedal pressure. if system is active and you're at a red light, let up a bit on the pedal and it will restart before you actually need it to.

Don’t know about the 2021’s, but on my 2019 Q8 after the recent software update, I barely notice the auto start/stop system any longer. Car is now very responsive.

I think that the stop/start button is the button above the HVAC drivers side on the screen.

Anyone know what driver display this is in the main cluster? I don't have this screen... Also, the menu bar running down the left side of the MMI... I don't have that either on my 2020.

This looks like an RSQ8 - I see a faint "R" on the bottom of the steering wheel and there is a red stripe which means this is not a base Q8. That gage display looks RS Q8 specific

1stRS I think the menu bar is part of the updated MMI for 2021. New MIB 3 hardware.
