I bought a CarPlay wireless adapter for my F150 that works flawlessly, and my wife is always complaining about the MMI based CarPlay in her 2019 Q8 dropping her off calls, have to keep clicking on your phone to get it initially connected, disconnecting from her Iphone 13 Pro on long drives in certain places that have a lot of interference and you have to pull over and turn car off and on etc. I have taken it to the dealership twice, they always delete the phone out and did an MMI patch one time but it didn't improve anything. I got her one of these adapters (link below), and it works better and fixes a lot of the MMI-based CarPlay issues, but about 1 out 6 times Apple Music plays with a slight crackle. You unplug it in the console and back in and it fixes it.
Wondering if anyone has found one that works flawlessly in a 2019 or newer Audi?

When we are together, we always have her phone connected. When I drive it, I have a good bit of flakiness with my phone (as far as MMI-driven CarPlay). I haven't connected to the dongle deal at all in her car.

My phone is flaky in her car too, but I am just running errands so not as good of a test of the interference based dropouts in certain parts of the metroplex etc...my strong hunch is I would have the same issues. Audi dealership said her Iphone 11 was the problem so she got an Iphone 13 Pro a year ago and it had the exact same issues. She is fairly up to date on IOS updates, maybe a couple behind.

I have never had an connectivity carplay issue. But I know quite a lot about the software. Please share a picture of the whole screen of your MMI's software version.
It's in the red engineeringsmenu:
show version (SW Train) it's shown in the video.

Ah just as I thought you are running a software version with some bugs. You need MH2p_US_AUG35_P2873
Update file and a good quality SD card (not a microsd with an adapter to SD) Give this post a like and I will share the update file with you.
unzip the file and put all the files on a fat32 formatted SD card. You know you did it correctly if the metainfo2 textfile is in the root of the sd card.
Go to the red engineering menu and put in your sd card. Go to update and click SD2 (or SD1 depending on your car) and update everything if you have the normal audio system or B&O. Only Bose systems need a modification but I don’t believe on your car model that even is an option.
don’t forget to like my comments in the thread. Thanks
