Default Driver Assist - individual mode

My goal was to turn off lane assist which I now learned is on the turn signal. I however turned off several other assist features. If I’m in individual mode it shows the following symbol attached photo.

if I switch to lowest setting it disappears.

any idea why it would show this?

If you press the right arrow on the button on the steering wheel on the left side, this triangle will light up and the VC will show a message about the fault.
Imdakine1, with all my sympathy for you, you have it all explained in the car owner's manual.

I was wondering who'd be the first to suggest RTFM, you phrased it so kindly.

I actually have read this section in the manual but a bit strange that if I keep driver assist in basic no alert but if I choose individual mode and choose certain things to turn off mainly everything except “assist with braking” if to close to a car going 40mph or faster or something...

Possibly I turned this off and it was warning me that it’s off etc...

This seems like as good a time as any to say that the Audi Q8 manual is poorly written. Seems like every feature explanation starts with "if equipped" and then doesn't give a clear explanation at all. The index has no list for some obvious feature names..... Every time I try to use it I go away frustrated.....and no smarter.

The display of a white warning triangle in the top header of the VC informs about a malfunction or limitation in the operation of a car's system. The arrow button on the steering wheel is designed to change the highlighting of the upper headers. If you highlight this white warning triangle, you will see information about the cause of the warning.
In the case described by you, it would probably be information about disabling some important assistive systems that affects safety.

Thanks! I think it told me it was turned off. Which it was as I turned it off. I have not decided to leave it in basic as the lane assist is what was most annoying to me.

From the image at the bottom of the screen I also see “sos” above a car icon. I think that means Audi connect cell connection is off. This would also cause the white triangle.

Can you check the "Nuke Launch" button on top of your head if it's green or red, it should be green. I had that SOS error before for stuck in a no-cell-service zone for hours.
