I've just finished reading this entire thread and just wanted to add my data. I have a '21 SQ8 in California and I believe my paper indicates I have the 9G5 alternator. My car is equipped with the S-Sport package (active roll bar, etc) and the pre-requisite Prestige, but no Executive or Advanced B&O. In back I have what I believe is the SCAP. Does this mean I have the Denso alternator?

@ecloumd interesting - we have seen this before but I think it was w a Q8 not SQ8 - but maybe I'm miss remembering. so far, no north american SQ8 has had a BSG though...48 volt or not.

Yes I checked my build sheet for the type of alternator prior to purchase -0K0 / 9G5
