On Jan 1 my 2021 Q7 with 32K KM had the electrical malfunction amber warning come on. My husband drove it to the dealership and they replaced the alternator, battery and start generator.
Today we got on to the highway and it started shaking and drive system malfunction came onz
could this be related to my Jan 2 emergency repair?

Joining in on the fun here 2020 Q7 (48K miles) - my wife was driving to work yesterday and got the 'electrical system: malfunction! please contact service' and the 'vehicle starting system: malfunction! please contact service'. I assume this is the BSG as I know this issue well as I just had the same thing happen on my 2020 S6 (42K miles) last month. Was able to get the car to the dealer safely yesterday - just waiting for confirmation. For my S6, it took them 2 weeks to get the part and replace / fix the issue. Hoping for a similar turn around this time. Will keep folks updated here to share progress on the issue.
some thoughts: it seems like the sweet spot here (for me at least) is ~40K miles / 4 years - I would tell anyone with one of these BGS's just to be
prepared and expect it will happen...

Well, it just happened to me while driving to work. I was about 5 minutes away from work and the yellow battery showed up on my dash. I figured we are ok to get to work. I arrived, searched, and found this forum and this issue. Thanks to all your responses, it prompted me to act and get my car towed to the nearest Audi dealership that would actually answer my call. Fortunately, I was able to be told not to drive it again. I thought I was gonna get it to the house with my wife following me but that could have been bad too.
As I was pulling my car onto the flatbed of the tow truck, I got the start/stop malfunction as well as another malfunction I didn't get to see since I was focusing on getting the Q8 on the flatbed as the tow operator needed.
I'll keep y'all posted on it.

The exact same scenario happened to me in my Q8, low battery warning came on then multiple failed System warnings showed on the dash. Then nothing the dash was completely black and the engine dead with the exception of one yellow steering wheel lamp lit. Four-way flashers also failed. Very dangerous.
Dealer diagnosed alternator failure. In Canada there is now a 10 year alternator warranty. So entire fix covered. Has been working great since then.

Audi are reportedly not allowing people to order cars with V6s and V8s because of the shortage of the BSGs. They rather use the available supply to fix cars waiting by thousands at dealerships than keep selling new ones that will break down anyways. Sound.
