Myself and at least one other person in this thread had a direct phone conversation with another law firm that was working to file, but, this firm that filed beat them to the punch. Apparently once one is filed, for that topic, filing another one isn’t worth the effort typically.
Knowing Audi and their class action lawsuits, I'm not hopeful. There was one for the B8 A4 timing chains. I literally just got the mail from AOA last week regarding repayment if you had it serviced. If I recall correctly, that lawsuit started back in 2016. So eight freaking years...

The issue is that Audi can't issue a recall for this as the replacement BSG doesn't fix this issue.

So...here we are.

Rumor is there is actually a new part for this that fixes the issue. New 2024 cars come with a different part number.

I would have to look. I have definitely seen two different part numbers. They supposedly started installing new part number late 2023.

It looks like 4N1-903-028-BX is current iteration of the belt start generator.

They came out with another revision already? It's been less than a year. I wonder what the difference is between this one and the one I have sitting in my closet. Because mine was only 700 bucks. This part number 4N1-903-028-B, are going for 2600 bucks!

B seems to be the latest version but BX is a version refurbished.

I thought I deleted the X from the copy/paste.

I'm not sure if this has been posted before from the NHTSA showing a part number correction dropping the B from the part number. This was back in October of 2023.

https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...44638-0001.pdf

These two VCDS scans are for 2024 RS7s that both show "4N1 903 028 B HW: 4N1 903 028 B Component: BSG-HP1-65 H20 0562" as the part number.
