I'm not sure if this has been posted before from the NHTSA showing a part number correction dropping the B from the part number. This was back in October of 2023.

These two VCDS scans are for 2024 RS7s that both show "4N1 903 028 B HW: 4N1 903 028 B Component: BSG-HP1-65 H20 0562" as the part number.

B is for RSQ8 and A is for Q8. X as a second letter means always that the part is refurbished.

Car is royally F'd up with this issue right now. 2019 Q8, happened 400 miles from home in a somewhat remote area with only small auto shops around. Closest dealer is 250miles away and in the opposite direction from home. Any idea what the next step should be? My regular Audi service department is closed for the day and maybe also tomorrow since it will be Sunday.

Thinking best bet is to have the car towed to the nearest dealer and get a rental car to drive home for the time being.

wait till monday. i would not want to tow it 250 miles further away. use a covered transport company maybe? they are fairly fast and it may be cheaper than a tow company.

Exactly the scenario I was concerned about. Hence my 2019 Q8 Prestige with 36000 miles is gone. CarMax has it now. Did not replace it with an Audi.

Christ. This is why I don't want to take my car on long trips. I'm sorry to hear this happened to you.

Does AOA compensate for towing charges? I could only assume how much it will cost to tow the car in.

This is why I won’t take mine on long trips- and I’ve already fixed mine (once). No confidence that the fix was the fix and not another ticking time bomb.

I mean, these are cars and not airplanes. I was looking into a car for my spouse, Mazdas, Subarus, etc, and all I read today was about exploding sunroofs and rear glass windshields (Acura RDX). All we have to do to mitigate this problem is stay within 200km of an Audi dealership (for me in Canada using a towing plan from my credit card) and to carry $700 worth of parts in the trunk. I don't think it's a big deal.

What's sad is I can't even tell if this is a joke or not. Because it's a true statement.
