Wow. These systems seem to be more trouble than they are worth. What IS the procedure if you were tonleave your car at the airport for 2 weeks? Anything special need to be done?

I'm also shocked to learn that people in the UK can't benefit from the 7-year BSG warranty. Crazy!!! 😤

Lol. I am thinking to disconnect the 12V battery if I ever need to leave my Q8 for a long time. I am guessing that should stop the drainage.

Default Failure yesterday

Had the dreaded Electrical System malfunctionon my 2019 Audi Q8 55,000 miles.

Despite the extension of the warranty to 7 years - Audi of America refused to tow my vehicle to the dealership telling me the warranty doesn't apply to towing the disabled vehicle. Pretty bad service on a know defect leaving the owner holding the bag.

That is ridiculous. When the turbos failed on my 2015 A8, the factory warranty had expired, but the turbos were still covered under a CARB state emissions warranty. Audi didn't give me any issue towing the car to the nearest dealer. I may have ended up paying for the tow out of pocket (I don't recall at this point), but everything else was absolutely covered, and they gave me no problems having it towed.

Clarifying - they would tow if I gave them my credit card for me to pay for the tow.

Got it - in my case they towed me, no questions asked, no credit card upfront.

Sorry about the troubles. What did you eventually do and what is the state of the vehicle at this point?

There are reports of a recall in a Q8 Facebook group. Anyone here gotten the notice or called their dealership?
