Check the TSB link in post #91 above for models and years.

My 2022 RSQ8 went in several weeks ago for this electrical issue. The part finally came in and should get my car back this week. Dealer said it's an updated alternator.

if you can, the part number for what they yanked out and the part number for the new. and in theory, doesn’t that mean they’d update the TSB? and also, update the software from the TSB?

And ask them about TSB 27-22-41, sounds like your far may fall under this, but it isn't listed as impacted. See what they say...

Sound to me like they'll be superseding TSB 27-22-41 soon if more and newer MYs are showing up at Audi Service with this problem.

sure seems like it. but 3 years after an issue presents in tons of cars seems like enough time to get the fix folded in to production. kind of ridiculous. as of yesterday i am curious about the alternator. who is making it? does it have any firmware? who is doing the QA and can’t this failure be prevented?

This happened to me on November 16th on my 2020 Q8 Premium Plus. Fast forward to today and my dealer is now telling me it will probably be another 3 to 4 weeks before the Generators come in via ocean freight. Thank god they gave me a Q7 loaner but still this day and age to wait 6 to 7 weeks for a part. The dealer told me there were 3 other A6’s in with the same issue just waiting for generators.

I asked about this TSB. He'll get back to me.

But update this week. The part came in Friday and is now in my car. They are now doing drive cycles to test it and I should have the car back tomorrow. I'll update on what part they installed and if there was a software update.

A screen shot of your service ticket would be great to see how it compares to the work done on my 2019 A7.
